The WaterGuard Inspection port is a little hatch that you an open to see inside the channel.
The lids have a telescopic adjustment so that the can be made to fit precisely flush with the finished floor surface (unlike the Basement Systems’ ones!).
They are not essential as WaterGuard is designed to be a non-clogging system, but they are useful for peace of mind, testing the system, draining a dehumidifier etc.
The ports have the same profile as the flangeless channel and are simply installed as if they were a short length of channel and secured to the channel with a jointing clip either end.
USEFUL TIP: – use one port inbetween a pair of 45 degree corner pieces. This arrangement creates a sweeping 90 degree corner – good for water flow – and brings the port proud of the wall so it is not restricted if the basement wall is ever finished with a wall lining.
One port can be used to service two runs of channel at 90 degrees to each othe, if installed in this way. For full instructions see our installation guide.
NOTE FOR THE FLANGELESS CHANNEL USE THE FLANGELESS INSPECTION PORT.
